6th Grade Campus Building Features |
Windows Not only did we expand the exterior windows to allow for more natural lighting, which will be much healthier for students and staff, but every classroom and work space has large interior windows to facilitate more communication and observation. As one 6th grader put it while taking a tour of the building: "You can see us everywhere!" Open Areas Two large commons (south commons and north commons) were included along with furnishings that support small group, collaborative learning. Teachers and students will be able to use these to expand their learning areas and provide more flexible options than can be found in a traditional classroom. They also help to create a sense of community by eliminating long hallways that isolate staff and students. Two of the classrooms also open up to provide a large learning space for interdisciplinary activities and a separate "project room" is available for use as needed.
Wiring and Wireless
The entire building has an unbelievable amount of electrical and network wiring throughout to facilitate "anytime, anywhere" use of technology.
